On the not so pretty side!!!!!

After being surrounded by beautiful things at the castle we continue north on hyw 1 about four miles and see a sign that says…Elephant seals….
There were moms and little babies
They were really big, really stinky and really loud. All of them were makeing a different noise which ranged from a growl to a screech!!!
Faces only a mom could love.....They were really crazy looking animals!!!!!

Plan B or is it C now?

So this past weekend I had a friend come up to visit. I try and think of something fun for us to do first we were going to go fishing out of Morro Bay…FUN!!! Well I soon find out that doesn’t start until May. So they say how about Whale watching I say GREAT so I made reservation and really start to get excited. All week it was rainy but I thought maybe, hopefully, it would clear up for the weekend right? WRONG!!! Not only did it NOT clear up but it was a STORM!!!! The whale people even called and said that the coast guard is advising that no one go out but next weekend should be nice if I want to reschedule…..of course! So that morning we had to think of an alternate activity…He brought up Hearst Castle, which is a castle up in the hills, that was built by a newspaper guy William Hearst. It was beautiful. However it was hard to get a good feel for the outside or the view because it was so foggy and freezing!!!! And again silly me did not wear a warm enough jacket cause I figured we would be inside most of the time. Well a lot of it was outside oh well…what do ya do?

There was beautiful art everywhere outside inside all over we didn't see the entire castle the have 4 different tours ...Even to parts we saw our tour was a hour and a half and i think we just scratched the surface ...Unreal to thing that someone actually live here!!!

The outdoor pool can you imagine canonballing into that?! Different weather of course.

Indoor pool..He wanted it to resemble a bath house....it was AMAZING! The tile had pieces that were plated with real gold. It covered the bottom of the pool, up the walls and on the ceiling. It was soooo beautiful in there.

This was the dining room. Mr. Hearst would have invite people to stay at tha castle all the time. He sat in the middle of the table. The first night you got there you would sit right next to him and each night after you would get moved down one chair. So when your in the last chair ...oops guess its time to go home. Good idea for those house guest who overstay thier welcome!

My Page Name

This year because of my work schedule I was not able to come home for Christmas ...The first time EVER I would not be with my family for the holidays. So about a week before Christmas my mom and Bodie came out to see me. It was Bodies first airplane ride! So..... I was rushing around that morning doing little things before they flew in. The airport is only about 15 miles or so away from my house. Well one thing lead to another and before i Know it "oh my goodness I better get going" Well in actuallity the 15 mins is really 30 and I have a little problem with being on time as it is.....So to get to the point after a worried phone call from my mom and i swear every red light in Santa Maria I pull up to the airport. I see them waiting and sneak up behind bodie who is busy digging in his backpack........ "BOO" I say......He jumps up startled the first thing that comes out of his four year old mouth........"Crazy auntie where you been!?!" The phrase has stuck in our family sense.

Fun With the Wine Wranglers

Jamie came this weekend for a girls weekend...Its been way too long!!! We had a GREAT time!!!!

We went on a wine tour through Edna Valley with the Wine Wranglers. "Lets go rustle up some wine" There was a group of about ten people. They set up tasting at various wineries and a very YUMMY picnic lunch. What a fun day. The weather was beautiful and we had a really fun group.
